I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
