Approximately 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, producing powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction

Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across various areas of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
