AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that defies conventional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.
The adventure centers on "strange tests and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an unique katana in addition to several artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
